The Vidourle is a river approximately 100 km long that originates south of the Cévennes and flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Home to cyprinids and predatory fish (perch, pike, eels, zander, carp, and black bass). It certainly hosts the largest pike population in the department. This river is also home to a wide diversity of bird species such as the grey heron and the kingfisher. It is a Natura 2000 site, with remarkable biodiversity.

The Vidourle offers a wild and tranquil environment for many species that live there. It is a river very popular with walkers as well as anglers. In Sommières, the banks are equipped with a carp fishing course. Take the time to take a break by the water’s edge in the shade of the plane trees and keep your eyes open! This is also where certain stages of the Enduro Carpe Gard take place.
