Camping le Garanel is fortunate “to be located in the heart of the AOC Languedoc Sommières Terroir, and to be” only a few kilometers from several wineries and tasting cellars. For those who would like to combine a walk with a tasting, a hike has even been created for you and your taste buds!

AOC LANGUEDOC SOMMIÈRES TERROIR

It is the youngest and one of the smallest appellations in Languedoc. This designation primarily concerns powerful red wines, made from a blend of at least two grape varieties among Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cinsault, with a beautiful purple to dark garnet color. Their nose is complex. Dominant aromas of red fruits (cherry, strawberry, blackberry, plum…) are often found, associated with notes of garrigue, spices, licorice, and vanilla. On the palate, these wines are concentrated with well-coated tannins. They have a lot of richness and roundness.

Other quality and “origin wine labels are present in the Pays de Sommières territory: AOC Languedoc and IGP Pays d”’Oc.

Domaine Costes-Cirgues

Family winery, organic wines with no added sulfites, and organic olive oil. Only 2.5km from the Campsite, Domaine Costes Cirgues will be delighted to welcome you for a guided tour of the estate and cellar followed by “a tasting. The cellar is open for tastings without appointment, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday by appointment. Registratio” n is mandatory for the guided tour. 60 hectares of vines, olive trees, forests, fields, and garrigue! The Costes-Cirgues estate consists of small plots where vines and olive trees coexist. The remarkable diversity of their soils, composed of slate, gravel, limestone, flint, and marl, gives each of them its own unique character. A Mediterranean climate, gently sloping hillsides, the nearby garrigue, and plots delimited by dry stone walls leave their mark on the wines and olive oil of Costes-Cirgues.
